Carroll Sidney Hurt was born September 12, 1940, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He was the only child of Sidney and Edith Hurt. On June 19, 2013 the Lord decided to reunite them in Heaven. Carroll is survived by his wife Dorothy Lee Hurt of 33 years of marriage. He had 5 children, Dewayne Hurt, Sherry Renee’ Reed, Carla Marshall, Bruce Begley, and Larry Broyles. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and one on the way. He also leaves behind an extended family in Nebraska, which he loved very much. Carroll lived most of his life on his parents land just outside of Mannford, Okla. He was a devoted believer in Christ. He was a member of and attended Freedom Hill Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School Director, Trustee and a Director of the Men’s Breakfast Club. He was also involved with the Church Of God in Mannford, Oklahoma which he called his other church family. He loved and was loved by both church families. He enjoyed fishing, swimming and spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by many.
