LeRoy Joseph Brooks “Joe”, age 80, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at his home in Sapulpa, OK. He was born June 24, 1932 in Paso Robles, CA to William and Isabel Hartung Brooks. Joe, his sister and 3 brothers were also blessed with a foster family, Paul, Lydia, Sonja and Paul Thomas Lindbergh.

Joe served his country for more than 22 years in the Navy, Air Force and Army. He was on active duty during the Korean War and Desert Storm. Joe received honorable discharges from the Navy and Air Force and retired with the Army National Guard in 1992. He worked in Civil Service at Altus Air Force Base for over 35 years. Joe was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church in Glenpool.

Joe is survived by his wife of many years, Wilma, 3 children; Jolene Tellgren and her husband Jim of Blair, OK, Raymond Brooks and his wife Cathy of Blair, OK and Shari Huff and her husband Steve of Tulsa, OK. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Jenna Tellgren, Jenean Tellgren, Robert Tellgren and his wife Tia, Justin Brooks, Jennica Brooks, Mackenzie Huff, Marlo Keller and her husband Matt, Stuart Huff and his wife Stephanie. Joe also has 18 great grandchildren. Joe has 1 sister, Sonja Spinner and her husband Bob of CA, and 1 brother, Paul Thomas Lindbergh and his wife Carolyn of CA.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mary Ellen Epperly as well as his 3 brothers; Eddie, George and Artie Brooks.
