Life Story for Linda J. Nichols (Howard)

Linda J. Nichols (Howard)
After battling a lengthy illness, Linda Jean Nichols, 61, of Sapulpa, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital South. Her devoted husband Glen was by her side.

Linda was born on April 6, 1952 in Yale, OK and grew up in Cushing, OK. She graduated from Oilton High School in 1970. Glen & Linda married on July 31, 1970 in Cushing, OK. Soon after they moved to Sapulpa and have called it their home for the past 40 years.

Linda’s pride and passion was taking care of children. She owned & operated Linda’s Kids Child Care Center in Sapulpa for 27 years. She helped raise many of Sapulpa’s finest children and they loved her dearly. She made them feel truly as if they really were “Linda’s kids.” Linda could always be found with an army of kids wearing blue shirts, traveling from adventure to adventure. Linda was especially proud of her 3 children and her 5 grandchildren, who she adored with all her heart.

Linda is survived by her husband Glen, of Sapulpa and her 3 children, Amy Nichols of Sapulpa; Missy Matlock and her husband Tim of Jenks; and Phillip Nichols who is stationed in Ft. Riley, KS. Her 5 grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart, are Jackson Dalzell, Camryn & Rylie Matlock and Jordyn & Kaiden Nichols. She is also survived by her sister Karen Roberts of Glencoe; and her brothers David Howard of Cushing; and Mark Blackburn of Jennings. Linda also had a large extended family throughout Oklahoma.
