Life Story for Charles Watson Harper

Charles was born on August 23, 1942 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma (Isaacs – d.1965) father, Kenneth Harper (d.1986) and older sister, Kathleen “Kate” (d.2013). He is survived by his younger brother Chester “Chet” and his wife, Becky and their children, Katrina and Stephanie and their families, along with Kate’s children, Lisa & Corbin and their families.
Charles married Danielle Davis on August 28, 1965 (divorced 1987) and had two daughters, Lynette and Charlotte. He was also married to Joann Jeffries from 1999-2007.
Charles was a man of multiple interests and skills which resulted in a variety of jobs spread out across the United States that included being an industrial worker, preacher, ranch-hand, horse-trainer, funeral assistant, truck-driver and salesman.
His hobbies were riding and trading horses and fishing. He was a hard worker, sharp dresser, and a beautiful singer with a laugh that overwhelmed a room. Performing was one of his most favorite things to do. He also loved Jesus and tried very hard to remain a committed Christian throughout the course of his life.
He proudly became a grandfather in 2009 when Lynette and her husband, Michael, gave birth to his first and only grandchild, Zachary.
His first major health episode occurred in July 1997 and thereafter he was in and out of the hospital for several different causes and procedures. In December 2013, his respiratory system started shutting down and on January 2, 2014 he went to be with Jesus. We know he is singing with his Mama and the angels and will never know pain again.
