Leon Olind McNabb Jr., 75, died Sunday January 5th, 2014. He was born October 25th, 1938 to Leon Olind McNabb Sr. and Ruby Jane McNabb of Mounds, OK. L.O. was a graduate of Mounds High School. He received his Bachelors degree from the University of Tulsa and his Masters degree from Indiana University. He began his career with Rockwell International where he worked 35 years in management, eventually retiring from Boeing- Rockwell in 1998. L.O. was married to Linda Kay Sparks McNabb of Mounds, OK in 1968. They resided in Mounds their entire married life where they raised three children. L.O. was an integral part of many community organizations in Mounds. He was a servant to God, his family and his community, serving on the school board for fifteen years, rural water district 7, the Oakwood Cemetery Association, Friends of the Library Association, the Mounds Historical Society, The Ministerial Alliance and the Mounds Alumni Association. After retiring from Boeing, L.O. served as the minister of Mounds Christian Church, his lifelong church, until his death. He is survived by his wife Linda of the home, sister Mary Ann Pantry and Ivan of Mounds, son’s Chris McNabb and wife Shannon, Steve McNabb and wife Melissa and Tim McNabb, four grandchildren, ShawnDea Dunzy, Kyleigh McNabb, Connor McNabb and Kelsei McNabb, and many nieces and nephews. Service is scheduled for Wednesday at 2:00pm at the Mounds Christian Church. Graveside services will be held at Oakwood cemetery in Mounds with the Reverend Dick Knox officiating. Paul Bearers are Ed Barton, Jim Woods, Herb Carner, Bill Cruickshank, Dennis Campbell and Buddy Price. Honorary Paul Bearer Gene Bates.
