OBITUARY
“A Gentle & Kind Soul”

Vernell Everett Durant was born October 28, ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬1943 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Vernon T. Durant, Sr. & Evelyn Kanion Durant. He was one of eight children born to this union.
Three brothers preceded him in death, Johnell, Floyd and Vernon Jr. Durant.
After completing high school, Vernell enlisted into the United States Army from 1962 - 1968. While enlisted, he was stationed in Germany for many years. Upon returning to the United States, he lived in Sapulpa for a number of years and later relocated to Los Angeles. There he joined his sister, Ruth and Brother-in-Law, Ron.
Vernell loved living in Los Angeles and especially with the clients of Dare U Care Outreach Ministry.
Anyone that knew Vernell loved him because he had such a kind spirit.
Vernell dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and rededicated his life in 1998. Vernell loved the Lord and enjoyed attending his home church, Agape Christian Fellowship Church of Los Angeles, CA. When the doors of the church were open, Vernell was there.
Left to love and cherish his memory is his three daughters, Vernetta Elaine Owusu (Eric) of Minnepolis, MN, Leah Durant and Saadiqah Tippins, both of Los Angeles, CA. His sister Doris Miller (Lloyd) of Black River, Jamaica; sister Ruth Hamilton (Ron) of Los Angeles, CA; sister Karen Durant of Dallas, TX and sister, Prencella Hall (Cleveland) of Baltimore, MD.
Also left to share his memories are a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, great nephews & nieces, cousins and other relatives.
