The essence of Gene’s joy was his family and friends. He took great pride in being a son, a brother, a husband, a father, a grandfather, an uncle, and a cousin. Gene was a member of the Sapulpa First Church of God and shared close friendships and many memorable times with his Happy Warrior Sunday School Class. He was a highly skilled welder and a long time member of the Pipe Fitters Union Local #430. Gene was initiated into and became a full standing member of the Order of the Masons in 1970 and was an active member of the Sapulpa Elks Organization.

Gene is survived by his children Marcia Jones of Kellyville, Paul Mayberry and wife Lori of Berryhill, and Marla Sanchez and husband George of Tulsa. He is the beloved Grandfather of Angela Crawford, Darin Jones, Lacee Sanchez, Anthony Mayberry, Brody Mayberry and Cruz Sanchez. Gene’s cherished Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren are Jacee Crawford, Madelyn Crawford, Ashlyn Jones, Lucas Jones, Jetson Sanchez, and Haddie Mae Jones. Gene is also survived by generations of Mayberrys who loved him dearly.

Gene was preceded in death and welcomed to Heaven by his parents T.P. and Nancy Mayberry; siblings Richard Mayberry, Rosie Mayberry, Rena Lister, Mattie Shaw, Sylvia Hurst, Dona Brimage, Delbert Mayberry, William Mayberry, Audie Mayberry, Claud Mayberry, and Wilma Boyd; as well as his beloved wife of 33 years Gracie Mayberry; son-in-law Danny Jones; great grandson Dalton Crawford.

During Gene’s 85 years, he touched many lives in ways that cannot be measured. His love and presence will be missed by all.
