Life Story for Donna Gay Rice

Donna Gay Rice went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 12, 2014 in Tulsa, OK. She was born in Collinsville, OK, on July 21, 1948 to Charles and Georgianna Peay. She was the oldest of four children and the only girl. She graduated from Collinsville High School in 1966.

She had Mandi Rice on January 12, 1977 and on February 12, 1981, she had Brianna Rice, both at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. In the early 1980's, Donna and her family moved to Westminister, CO. Here, she enjoyed hiking, skiing, camping, and the beautiful mountains with her family. During their time in Colorado, they adopted a wonderful furry child, named Lady, who accompanied the family everywhere. She enjoyed spending time here and at their cabin in Missouri, where the family was always swimming, fishing, boating, or enjoying all that Silver Dollar City had to offer.

Donna and her family moved back Oklahoma in the late 1980's, and they settled in Sand Springs, OK. In the mid-1990's, she went to work for the Tulsa Police Department in the Records Division. Here, she found a multitude of friends both in her co-workers in the office and throughout the police department. She always enjoyed talking to the officers and helping them while she was with the police department. She retired from her position with the Records Division in April 2013.

Donna is survived by her two daughters, Mandi Weems and Brianna Carter; two wonderful son-in-laws, Dennis Weems and Lee Carter; seven grandchildren, Brody, Chase, Chance, Kirstyn, Jaidyn, Kent, and Emma; her brother, Dale Peay and his family, Jana, Taylor, and David Peay; as well as her furry children, Basky and Sailor; along with several cousins and extended family members.
