Life Story for
James Roy Keating
James Roy Keating was born August 11, 1951 in Coral Gables, Florida and moved to Tulsa in 1965. He passed from this life August 29, 2014. Jimmy worked at Sertoma and the Sheltered Workshop of Tulsa (SWAT) for over 24 years. Jimmy really loved participating in the Special Olympics. For many years he won many gold and silver medals and ribbons which he proudly displayed on the wall of his home. He won medals for horseback riding, swimming, bowling and first place ribbons in javelin, ball throw, and the 25K walk. He also enjoyed his hobbies; horseback riding in Ramona and swimming at the Miller’s Swim School in Tulsa. He eagerly looked forward to his yearly trips to the Tulsa State Fair and Frontier City, going to the movies and especially eating at his favorite restaurants. Jimmy always made friends wherever he went and will be sorely missed by all of us who were lucky enough to know him.
Jimmy is survived by his mother Bettye Grier; his sisters Sandra Morrow; and Sherry Mathieu (Joe); and by his nephew Robert Morrow IV (Jennifer); niece Kim Ballard; niece Christine Rogers (Steve); nephew Joe Mathieu Jr. (Andrea); and by his great nephews Trayce Day; Quint Morrow; Daniel Ballard; Andrew Ballard; Kyle Rogers; and Graham Mathieu.
