The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Gary Box can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Life Story for Gary Grover Box

Gary Grover Box was born in Yahola Oklahoma, in 1944 to Wilson and Ethel Box. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Leon Wilson Box.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Marie (Malissa) Box. Together they have 3 children, Leon Box and wife Angla, Gary Don Box and wife Pam, Mona Woodall and husband Sid. Grandchildren include Steven Box, Gary Wyatt Box, Ryan Box, Morgan Oliger and wife Brittany, Sidney Hudson, Jonathon Kamies, Lacey Dennis and husband Cory, Nichole Kamies, Whitney Kamies. Great grandchildren include Macie and Morgan Rain, and Mackenzie Oliger and soon to be Aubri LeAnn Dennis.
Gary loved life, especially camping with the kids and his family. Gary worked for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for 38 years. He also served 15 years with the Sapulpa Reserve Police and he was Cleat Certified. Gary’s nickname was “Gary the Tool Man.” Gary love to volunteer for the Sapulpa Historical Society and helped other volunteers build many displays. He was very involved with the restoration of the Trolley and was involved in the “Big Build” with American Heritage Bank. When Gary was not volunteering he loved to play music for social dances and the fireworks show at Flint Ridge. He loved decorating his yard for Halloween and scaring all the kids (big and little). He enjoyed life so much, spending time with family and friends, and with his wife Marie Box. Gary never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. Gary was loved by so many, and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Grace Hospice.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 in the Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 12:00-9:00 pm on Tuesday July 2, 2013. The family plans to greet guests during the Visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. The family has entrusted the care of the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home. www.greenhillok.com
