Life Story for Henry L. "Pete" Marrs

Henry L. "Pete"  Marrs
Henry Lee “Pete” Marrs passed away peacefully at home on August 7, 2013. He was born to Thomas and Mary Ella Ball Marrs on July 17, 1918, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

Pete married Dorothy Marie Brumley of Sapulpa in 1936. They had 6 children. Preceding him death were sons Bobby Joe and Gary, as well as his daughters Dorothy Jean Marrs and Barbara Stephanopulous, all of Bartlesville. His two surviving daughters are Jolene Marrs of Tulsa and Colene Hazelwood and husband Todd of Broken Arrow. Pete was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 3 brothers.

He married Dorothy Moss in 1984 and inherited 2 daughters, Phyllis Baldridge of Sapulpa and Rosemary Wolfe and husband John, of Mounds. He had 13 grandchildren, 9 surviving, 22 great grandchildren, several great, great and great, great, great grandchildren.

In Pete’s life were a few interesting jobs…he worked in the lead and zinc mine in Pitcher, OK and as a fireman for the Frisco Railroad. Most of his life was spent as a truck driver for P.T. Bonham of Bartlesville and Stubbs Transport of Tulsa where he was also a diesel mechanic, retiring at age 65.

He loved traveling and fishing with Dorothy and long-time friends Pat DeShazer and Faye Martin of Sapulpa.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am on Monday, August 12, 2013 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel in Sapulpa. Bob Carner of Mounds will be officiating. Visitation will be held at Green Hill Funeral Home on Saturday from 2 pm until 9 pm and on Sunday from 1 pm until 9 pm. The family has chosen to entrust the care of the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home in Sapulpa. 9182242312 www.greenhillok.com.
