Life Story for Jim D. Manley

Jim D.  Manley
Jimmie Donn "Jim" Manley was born September 11th, 1938 to John Manley and Minnie Bell "Marie" Boston in Enid, Oklahoma. He was the second of four children born to Mr. and Mrs. Manley.
Jim attended school in Joplin, Missouri from kindergarten until he graduated from high school in 1956. He decided to join the Air Force, but was only 17 at the time of graduation so his mother, Marie, had to sign a waiver for him. He served four years with the Air Force and was honorably discharged.
In 1960 he returned home to Joplin and began working. He then met his bride to be Judith Ann Mayes. After a short courtship they were married February 4th 1961. They had three children; January, Jimmie Donn, and Jerry. Jim decided to go to school to get his degree in accounting. In 1971 he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Missouri Southern University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He passed his CPA exam and moved his family to Tulsa, OK in 1973. He began working for a local funeral home and started building his CPA firm. The family settled in Bixby, OK in 1976.
Jim was a hard worker, but always had time for his family and friends. He was an active bass tournament fisherman and enjoyed traveling with his wife and kids. He was also a licensed private pilot and loved to fly his Cessna-182. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and his brothers, Johnny and Jerry and his son-in-law Robert Lane Moody. He leaves behind his wife, Judith Manley of Bixby, OK. His children January Moody of Bixby, OK, Jim Manley II of Bixby, OK and his wife Kari, and Jerry Manley of Tulsa, OK. His grandchildren Jentry Moody Hamilton of Jenks, OK and her husband Joshua, Nathan Moody of Plano, TX and his wife Ashley, J.D. Manley III and Austen Ferrell Manley of Bixby, OK, his sister Jerrel Deane Manley Livingston of Joplin, MO and her husband John and many nieces and nephews and friends.
