Life Story for Larry V. DeWitt

Larry Virgil DeWitt was born June 11, 1941 in Cleveland, Oklahoma to H.C. DeWitt and Lois DeWitt Giddeon. He is survived by his son Larry Dean DeWitt and Beverly of Langley, OK, his former wife and good friend, Faye DeWitt of Prattville, OK, his mother, Lois Giddeon, of Stillwater, OK, his brother, Bud Giddeon and Detra of Newcastle, OK, his sister, Carmen Martin and Gary of OKC,OK an his sisters Carla and Connie Giddeon of Perkins, OK.

Larry grew up in and around the Sapulpa area. As a young boy he loved hunting, fishing, motorcycles, and his granny’s made from scratch chocolate pie. Larry graduated from Sapulpa High School and spent a year in college at Northeastern State University, where he told us his one claim to fame was winning a dance contest. Way to go Larry!

Larry retired from Sheffield Steel in Sand Springs in 1990 where he was employed as a steelworker for thirty years. His love of the outdoors continued throughout his life. In his later years some of his happiest times were spent turkey hunting on his four-wheeler with his faithful dog, Suzie.

Larry was greatly loved by his family and friends. He will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered.
