Life Story for Kimberly L. Jones (Bayliss)

Kimberly L. Jones (Bayliss)
Kimberly Leona Marie Bayliss Jones, 40-years-old, gained her Angel’s wings on Saturday, April 12, 2014 after her valiant fight with Breast Cancer that began in 2000. Kim’s battle resumed in 2010 with Stage 4 Breast Cancer that spread to the bones. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through 4 more years of precious time with her children, family and friends. Yet even throughout her struggle with Cancer, she reached out to others when they were in need. Kim always had a beautiful smile that was contagious to those around her. She touched the lives of so many people and gave them hope in their struggles; though she was fighting her own battle.

Kim was born on November 2, 1973, in Bristow, Oklahoma to Jimmie and Vivian Bayliss. The youngest of 4 children, two sisters and one brother – Robbie, Rhonda, and Robin.

Known for her ease in frequent conversation with even total strangers, she possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and strength. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten.

Kim was a member of the Kellyville High School, Class of 1991. She was an avid athlete that excelled on and off the basketball court and softball fields. She believed in team-work, hard work and dedication to her team. Kim highly respected her basketball coach, Ms. Sharon Winguard and considered her a life’s mentor. “Coach” expected nothing but determination from her players. Kim always lived up to the challenge. Many believe that same determination and strength, to win the battle, is what carried her these past four years. Shortly after her high school graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Gene Jones and during their union they had two beautiful children, Dakota and Cierra Jones.

Kimberly is survived by her children of the home, Dakota and Cierra; her mother Vivian and Marty Esterline, of Kellyville, Ok; her siblings Robbie and Ginnie Bayliss, of Kellyville, Ok; Rhonda and Randy Hall, of Kellyville, Ok; Robin and Douglas Watkins, of Kellyville, Ok. She is also survived by nieces; Christy, Candice, Raelyn, Ricki, Rhenda, Sahsha, Kylee, Josie, Destin and Gayla as well as nephews Robbie Jr, Teyton, Ty and Gavin. Kim had a host of great-nephews, great-nieces and extended family and friends that will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her father, Jimmie Dean Bayliss.
