Life Story for Debra Sue McCaslin (Barber)

Debra Sue McCaslin (Barber)
Debra Sue “Debbie” (Barber) McCaslin passed into the arms of her Lord on July 11, 2014 at the age of 59, in Houston, Texas. Debbie was born to Henry and Betty Barber on January 5, 1955 at Tinker Air force base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Debbie was the 1st Deputy of the Creek County Assessor’s office in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, where she dedicated over 15 years of service. She loved her job and considered everyone she worked with an extension of her family. Prior to her employment with the Assessor’s office, Debbie worked alongside the love of her life, Ray McCaslin at their trucking/dirt and sand pit business for twelve years.
Debbie was a strong, independent woman, of which not much could stand in her way. She could crochet a heartfelt gift for family and friends, then put on her tool belt and fix anything she could take apart! Her talents were many. If she wasn’t reading or doing yard work you could find her bowling with her mom Betty and sister Ginger. She loved bowling, and traveled many places to bowl in tournaments. Debbie loved life and was loved by many, and will be missed by all.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father Henry Barber and her husband Ray McCaslin.
She is survived by her mother, Betty Barber of the home, daughter Brandi Smith, husband Andrew, of Tulsa, son Travis McKelvey, and wife Tiffany of Jenks. Two step-daughters, Kathy Newman and husband Dan, Jamie McDonald and husband JP of Sapulpa. Grandchildren Bo McKelvey, Joshua Boyd, Zachary Boyd, Avery McKelvey, Amanda Kendall, Tyson Reeves, Chance O’lanson. Three great-grandchildren, Conner Boyd, Waydon Ingram and TJ Reeves. Sisters, Ginger Stobaugh and husband Rick, Tammie Henderson and husband Ray and one brother Jeff Barber. Brothers-in-law John McCaslin and wife Ruby, Ron McCaslin, Jack Lambert and sister-in-law Laverne Bailey and husband Jerry, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Casket Bearers will be Grandsons Bo McKelvey, Joshua Boyd, Zachary Boyd, Tyson Reeves, Chance O’lansen and nephews Bubba Jamison and Johnny Jamison.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 16th from 5 – 7 pm and services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Green Hill Funeral Home.
