Edgar Arthur Vail Sr.

Edgar Arthur Vail Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather and friend died peacefully on August 17, 2014. Edgar was born February 20, 1930 in Wells, Texas. He proudly served his country in the Air Force for over 30 years. He was a long time resident of Collinsville, Oklahoma. He dedicated numerous hours to the Shriners Hospital for Children and was an active member of Maranatha Baptist Temple. He had a heart for service and was quick to volunteer his time for the benefit of others. He will be remembered for his sweet smile, grateful and loving spirit, and his devotion to his family and friends.
He is survived by wife of 61 years, Laverne Vail; his children Kathy Jacobs and Edgar Vail II; his grandchildren Crystal Burks, Amanda Simpson, Olivia Jacobs and Kayla Hambrick; great-grandchildren Makenzie Burks, Vivian Burks, Hailey Simpson and Sterling Hambrick; along with numerous nieces, nephews and great friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Green Hill Funeral Home of Owasso Chapel. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 10:00 am at Maranatha Baptist Temple in Collinsville, Oklahoma. Interment will immediately follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma.
